The copper plant spiral goes back to an old idea. Georges Lakhovsky began his experiments with plants: in December 1924, in Paris, he placed an open ring of copper wire around a geranium. According to his own account, the plant then kept growing strongly. Gardening with copper has fascinated people ever since.

Copper spiral electroculture

Today, copper spirals are used in electroculture, a gardening movement that works with copper antennas, spirals and pyramids. Supporters assume that these shapes capture energy from the environment and concentrate it around plants. Conical copper spirals are also known there, often called Ighina spirals. Use

Gently push the spiral into the soil of your plant pot, a little away from the stem, so that you do not touch the roots. Outdoors you can place it in the ground next to a plant or tree. The small 15 centimetre one suits pot plants up to about one litre, the large 20 centimetre one suits larger pots, a tub on the balcony or a vegetable planter. Polishing and cleaning copper

The spiral is unlacquered, so it changes colour over time, from bright orange to darker brown, and outdoors to green. That is a natural property of copper. If you want the shine back, copper polish works best; lemon juice with a little salt also works. Rinse with water and dry well.
