Usage Tips

• Fill the cup with water and enjoy a pure and healthy drink.

• Avoid using acidic beverages like fruit juices, as they may react with the copper.

• Do not leave water in the cup for more than 6-8 hours for optimal results.

• Warning: Filling with hot liquids can cause the surface to become very hot. Copper conducts heat.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Copper naturally develops a patina through oxidation. This process is completely normal and does not damage the cup, but regular cleaning keeps the cup in optimal condition.

Use cold or lukewarm water to fill the cup. Avoid hot water, as the surface can become very hot. 
The cup can go in the fridge, but not in the freezer. Do not leave water in the copper for more than 6 hours.

Clean the inside 2–3 times a week with a mixture of lemon and salt, or vinegar and salt, to remove the patina, then rinse well. The outside has a protective coating: a soft, damp cloth is all it needs. Allow the cup to dry thoroughly afterward, preferably for several hours before refilling it. Turn the cup upside down if the inside is not yet completely dry.

In India, copper bottles and cups are traditionally cleaned with tamarind pulp. Another option is to use Pitambari powder for cleaning, which is often available in Indian stores.
