What is the Oxidation Reduction Potential?

The Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), also known as REDOX potential, of a liquid shows you how many electrons the fluid can potentially return to what it comes into contact with. The term ORP is confusing because the term "reduction" is used chemically when electrons are added. So, when the ORP value of a liquid is high, this means that the fluid easily steals electrons and thus operates oxidizing. When the ORP value is low, the liquid more easily releases electrons and is therefore antioxidant.

How antioxidant is your drinking water?

For example, with this ORP meter, you can measure your drinking water or other beverages to find out how oxidizing (+ORP) or antioxidant (-ORP) they are. Some water filters, such as the MD4 Water Filter, ionize your water, what will leadto a lower ORP value and thus your water will become potentially antioxidant.

Are there any advantages to oxidizing liquids?

Absolutely! Oxidizing liquids such as ozone water are ideal cleaning agents. Bacteria, viruses, chemicals, heavy metals and other pathogens are thereby rendered harmless.
